SHoP Construction provides BIM-VDC consulting services to owners, architects and contractors. BIM is not new; true, well-executed BIM is. SHoP Construction knows what it takes to plan, orchestrate and execute a successful BIM project.

BIM PROTOCOLS DEVELOPMENT/ PRE-PROJECT PLANNING

Key to any successful BIM project is the establishment, from the start, of the BIM-VDC platforms, protocols, standards and workflows that direct project team members on how to engage their collaborative building project. We work with owners, architects and contractors to develop specific protocols for each project and administer the protocols throughout the design-construction period.

VIRTUAL DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION (VDC)

SHoP Construction’s Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) services utilize BIM to incorporate the work product of design-construction operation teams in a virtual realm, prior to construction, thereby increasing chances for project success. SHoP Construction's VDC process includes precise multi-dimensional modeling that provokes advanced Q&A upfront; thereby, significantly reducing RFIs and change orders during construction. SHoP Construction provides VDC services for owners, architects and contractors.

BARCODE SCANNING & DATABASE INTEGRATION

Integral to model development is our ability to assign or code each model element with a 'barcode' or RFID (raido frequency identification) tag. With this capability, SHoP Construction provides its clients with a comprehensive and interoperable database system which can be utilized to monitor and track each facade component throughout the fabrication, assembly and installation processes. Further to the ability of the facade contractor to monitor his own work, is the longer term potential for the coded assembly element to be digitally monitored on-site as part of a '6D' life-cycle management program.

VIRTUAL SUBMITTALS/ COORDINATION

SHoP Construction works alongside detail engineers to provide virtual models for inclusion in submital packages of subcontracting entities. SHoP Construction can participate in virtual coordination processes with subcontractors and continue model development until sign-off is achieved.

AS-BUILT FACILITIES MODELING

SHoP Construction links as-built BIMs with contract documents, shop drawings, submitals, product and equipment websites and maintenance schedules. This services enables facilities operators to benefit from the production of project BIMs long after construction is complete. Our BIM-VDC processes leads to intelligent operational facilities.

iROOM SUPPORT SERVICES

We recommend to owners the necessary equipment required for their project iRooms, utilize project iRooms to conduct VDC programs during preconstruction/construction and upon request, can provide training for facilities operators so that their iRooms can be utilized to interact with intelligent as-built BIMs upon occupancy.
