SHoP Construction assisted IIEF in virtual coordination and component modeling of a steel skeleton assembly used to support a tensioned mesh screen enclosure system around two concrete vent structures. Virtual management of the faceted mesh surfaces and their relationship to the steel support structure was critical in order to confirm connection details and maintain accuracy throughout the engineering phase of the project. Existing 2D documentation and base 3D information of the faceted planar envelope provided by the A/E team was used to generate a wireframe model serving as the basis of the structural steel skeleton. Upon development of the 3D model, SHoP Construction and IIEF coordinated unique steel connections that suited the angular geometry which remained concealed from public view and supported the steel armature while staying within acceptable construction tolerances.
